Bruch: Kol Nidrei

Andrea Casarrubios: Cello Concerto No. 2  (world premiere)

Schubert: Symphony No. 4

This special program features the world premiere of Cello Concerto No. 2 by GRAMMY®-nominated Spanish-American composer Andrea Casarrubios. Written for and dedicated to Amit Peled, with whom she studied during her time at the Peabody Conservatory, the new concerto showcases the expressive depth and soaring beauty of the cello in a powerful contemporary voice.

Peled will also perform Kol Nidrei by Max Bruch, the richly evocative work for cello and orchestra premiered by Robert Hausmann in 1881, a close associate of Johannes Brahms, and now considered a cornerstone of the cello repertoire.
