Center for the Arts at George Mason University
Christopher Zimmerman, Conductor

PROGRAM

The FSO joins 16-time Grammy winner and legendary violinist Itzhak Perlman for Cinema Serenade, an evening celebrating some of the most beloved music in film history. This special co-presentation with the Center for the Arts and FSO promises to be an unforgettable concert where the magic of cinema meets the brilliance of a live orchestra. As The New York Times writes, "Perlman's violin sings with unmatched warmth and humanity."

The program also includes Also sprach Zarathustra by Richard Strauss, the iconic tone poem made famous by its depiction of a cosmic sunrise in Stanley Kubrick’s  2001: A Space Odyssey.
