The Fairfax Symphony Orchestra, in collaboration with the Fairfax County government and other community partners, is sponsoring a season-long celebration of our County's diverse heritage.   The Harmony Project encourages community dialogues and explores the richness of the County's cultural diversity through reading, writing, dance, music, storytelling, painting, and other art forms.

These activities emphasize how the Arts play an important role in promoting cultural understanding, fostering pride, and contributing to the education and development of children.      

As a result of these activities, it is our hope that individuals will have a greater appreciation for how diversity enriches our community and a greater awareness of and respect for those who undertake the journey to leave their homes and come to America.   Because of this initiative, we believe neighbors can become more engaged with each other, active in the community, and appreciative of their own individual heritage and those of others.
